Last time, we said that after Teacher Rolin explained it clearly, Jimmy understood that the reason the caterpillars disappeared was because they became beautiful butterflies and flew away.
It was a beautiful afternoon, and everyone was playing happily on the playground. Only Iris was missing. Teacher Rolin saw that she was in a bad mood, and walked over to her. She said, “Iris, what’s wrong? Did something happen?” Iris said sadly to Teacher Rolin, “My neck is too long. The other classmates say it’s uncomfortable to talk to me, and they don’t want to play with me.”
Teacher Rolin listened to Iris’ problem, then said, “Don’t be sad about the way you look. It’s because you have a long neck, and because you’re so tall, that you can be the first to see the sunrise, and eat the highest, most tender leaves on the trees.
Around this time, a distant call from Jimmy got everyone’s attention. Pandora accidentally kicked Jimmy’s ball into the tree, where it got stuck. Everyone tried to jump to get it down, but they couldn’t. Iris saw this, and ran to the tree that held the ball. In an instant, she reached her neck and knocked the ball down out of the tree. When he saw his ball again, Jimmy was very happy, and very appreciative of Iris the giraffe. He thought about having made fun of her in the past, and felt very sorry for this.
He said to Iris, “I’m sorry. I laughed at you and your long neck, and didn’t want to play with you, but you were still nice to me, and even helped me get my ball down from the tree. I should say I’m sorry, and thank you for your help!”
Iris forgave Jimmy, and everyone played happily together again.
Next, Victor and his classmates would go to an orchard to pick fruit. What will happen there? We’ll find out next time.
Goodnight. Sweet dreams.
